Cadel Evans (BMC Racing Team) is the 2011 Tour de France champion and the first-ever Australian to win the race. Andy Schleck (Team Leopard Trek) from Luxembourg came in second for the third successive year, followed by his brother Frank Schleck in third. Mark Cavendish (HTC-Highroad) became the first British winner of the points classification while Samuel Sanchez (Euskaltel-Euskadi) of Spain won the King of the Mountains classification.
