In celebration of America's 235th Independence Day, the nation's biggest musical stars and the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Jack Everly gathered at the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. on Monday for the 2011 A Capitol Fourth holiday concert and fireworks display. Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Jimmy Smits hosted this year's event.

    As an annual tradition, Tchaikovsky’s '1812 Overture' was played at the concert finale, accompanied by the spectacular fireworks display over the Washington Monument.
