Eli Manning Injury
New York Giants QB
New York Giants starting quarterback Eli Manning, younger brother of Peyton Manning, suffered a bloody three-inch gash to the left side of his temple during a preseason game against the New York Jets Monday night at the new Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey.
The incident occurred after teammate Brandon Jacobs accidentally knocked Manning's helmet loose on a fourth-down play. The Giants quarterback was then crushed from the back by Jets lineman Calvin Pace, whose hit took Manning's helmet all the way off, at which point the Giant collided with another Jets defender.
Manning was removed from the game and later received 12 stitches for the head wound.

It has been said that Manning only has a bad cut and that was from his head hitting against Jet safety Jim Leonhard's face-mask. The Giants medical staff found no signs of a concussion, but it wasn't immediately certain whether Manning will play Saturday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Giants won Monday night's game against the Jets 31-16.
