The 2010 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony kicked off Thursday, June 10, 2010 8:00PM local time (GMT +2, EST +7) at the newly-renovated Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa.
FIFA staged a spectacular concert, organized and produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Kevin Wall and his company Control Room. Check out the top international and home-grown stars who performed at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert, as well as football legends and celebrities from other fields.
World Cup 2010 Local Organizing Committee Chief executive officer Danny Jordaan, France's former national team captain during the 1998 World Cup Patrick Vieira and FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke held the FIFA World Cup trophy at the end of the concert.
