The internet campaign of more than 500000 Facebook users to get Betty White to host Saturday Night Live has finally paid off. The Golden Girl hosted SNL last night for the show's Mother’s Day Special.

After her hilarious Super Bowl Snickers commercial, White both thanked and ridiculed Facebook during her opening monologue: "When I first heard about the campaign to get me to host 'Saturday Night Live,' I didn't know what Facebook was. Now that I DO know what it is, I have to say: It seems like a huge waste of time."

The 88-year-old comedic actress created plain old laughs with SNL vets Molly Shannon, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch and Ana Gasteyer.
